«OUR TIME»: Balgyn Orazaly

Balgyn Orazaly, a student of 11 «B» grade of Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Nur-Sultan, visited the program «Our Time» of Radio AstanaFM.

During the conversation, she answered the questions of the program hosts and callers, and openly expressed her opinion.

In August this year, in connection with the pandemic, a group of volunteers, under the leadership of Balgyn, created a project to provide free education to children of health workers, socially disadvantaged families and families with many children. Later, with the support of the U.S. Embassy, the «Uide oqu» project was expanded to include students from all Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools of Kazakhstan. Currently there are about 100 volunteers and 400 students in «Uide oqu» project. Children are trained three times a week for 30-40 minutes on ZOOM platform. Before signing up for training, a contract is signed with parents. If a child misses classes twice without a valid reason, the student is automatically expelled from the free education. In November, the 1st wave of the project will end.

Host: - Your teacher praised you for very fast reading. How true is this?

- A year ago I started learning speed reading techniques. I train for 5-6 hours a day and now I read 1000-1200 words per minute. This is due to the difficulty of the text. Today the main resource is education. You need to save time and learn knowledge quickly, - says Balgyn.

During the interview parents of the student «Uide oqu» called and thanked Balgyn and her team. The mother of the student said that since the summer his son's classes in mathematics and English improved, «5» became more.
