Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Astana (IB) has received the Certificate of Accreditation of the Council of International Schools (CIS).
Intellectual School of Astana is the first school among Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools, which has received the official status of member in the Council of International Schools (CIS). CIS is the premier organization in the field of international education for accreditation of schools, promoting the highest standards and the newest achievements in the field of education.
Becoming a member of the CIS, the school confirmed its compliance with international standards in organization of school as well as teaching and learning process. Joining the CIS community opens up broad prospects for the development and continuous improvement of the school. Thereby proving school community’s commitment to achieving the highest quality education.
Today CIS community includes 697 schools and 508 colleges and universities from 112 countries. Council of International Schools is working with the 50 best universities in the world.
The last visit of CIS team went from 13th to 20th May, 2016. During the week, a commission, composed of 11 members (representatives of accredited international schools around the world), worked due to the tense schedule.
According to international and CIS requirements, evaluation and accreditation of school was carried out on 7 standards of CIS:
• «The terms of the School Management";
• «Teaching and Learning";
• «Management and Leadership";
• «The teaching and supporting staff";
• «Access to teaching and learning";
• «The school culture and a partnership for the training";
• "Operation Systems".
According to the evidences seen at school, Board formed a Report about Intellectual School of Astana’s compliance to the high standards and principles of international education.
School administration congratulates NISA community with successful CIS accreditation saying thankful words to all for the hard work and great effort which was shown during the long and hard process of accreditation.
For information: April, 2013 - Intellectual School of Astana was successfully authorized and received the status of ‘IB World School’.
November 28, 2014 - School Application about receiving CIS candidate status has been approved by the Accreditation Commission.
May 7, 2015 - Nazarbayev Intellectual School of Astana was given the status of CIS candidate school on the basis of a preliminary visit in April.
November, 2015 - Intellectual School became an authorized IB World School for Middle Years Programme.
NIS Astana is the only school in the Nazarbayev Intellectual Schools network which offers IB programmes and qualifications.
