«OUR TIME» Ibrai Almat

Ibrai Almat answered the questions of the program hosts and expressed his opinion.

The 12th grade student of the International Baccalaureate school has chosen a specialty "Civil and Environmental Engineering". In his opinion, this profession is very relevant and useful. In the future he plans to exchange experience in the United States, Hungary and return to his native country.

When asked by the program hosts "What was the reason for choosing this profession?", Almat answered:

- Probably because my brother works in the field of aeronautical engineering. Perhaps, the thought of the success and creativity of the famous Ilon Musk and the fact that there is no one like him in our country was the reason why I chose this profession. In middle school, I was sure that I would choose humanities, but then I became interested in technical subjects: physics, mathematics and chemistry. Because they are exact sciences that study secret mystical forces.

In addition to lessons, Almat takes part in tournaments, in-school debate competitions. Besides, he is engaged in amateur soccer.

In Almat's opinion, enrollment abroad depends primarily on financial means. If parents are not experiencing financial difficulties, it is easier to enroll abroad. There are a lot of pupils, students who take grants to the U.S. from all over the world. There is a strict competition among them and the best are selected.

Almat said that during distance learning he has classes from 8:00 to 12:00, and then it takes about 4-5 hours to do homework and apply to universities, and even spends a whole day thinking about how to write letters to the university.

When asked by the hosts, "What advice do you have for graduating students?"

-First, you need to keep an eye on your GPA starting in 9th grade. Grades in 9th, 10th, 11th grades should be the best. Secondly, the profession should be chosen with your heart. That is, listen to your heart, regardless of what anyone says or thinks. You need to ask yourself the question, "What would you do if there were no assignments, exams, grades," and make a choice in favor of what you love to do," Almat answered.
