«OUR TIME»: Zhanetta Abdykerimova and Kyrmyzy Aryn

The guests of the radio show "Our Time" were students of 9 "D" grade of Nazarbayev Intellectual School in Nur-Sultan city Zhanetta Abdykerimova and Kyrmyzy Aryn.

The girls in front of the microphone answered questions of the program hosts and expressed their thoughts.

Zhanetta and Kyrmyzy said they liked to read books and collect bought and donated books in their private libraries.

Zhanetta and Kyrmyzy studied at School-Lyceum №66 in Nur-Sultan, and together they prepared for admission to the Nazarbayev Intellectual School. They have been friends ever since. Both love the Kazakh language and History.

The girls are concerned that young people in society are not widely using the Kazakh language. In their opinion, everyone should start with their family, now the parents do not pay much attention to their native language, saying that they will teach their children 3 languages at once. Therefore, the initiative in language learning should be in the Kazakh language.

- In social networks, the Internet lacks research projects, reports, articles and necessary information in the Kazakh language. In addition, I believe that the state should organize projects, programs, television contests among young people, which will be held only in the Kazakh language. It is necessary to show the importance of the Kazakh language among young people,- said Zhanetta.

- Senior government officials must know and speak Kazakh. If they have a low level of language, they should attend advanced training courses. For example, if you go abroad to study or get a job, you need to know the language of that country or general English. And in our country there is no such principle, the principle of knowledge of the Kazakh language is not mandatory when entering the service, - said Kyrmyzy.

The girls say they conduct school projects and research in English because it's easy to get information from English-language resources. And if they need to write in Kazakh, the data are translated from English into Kazakh. They do not agree with the idea that "speaking Kazakh means translating all words into Kazakh”. They believe that the original of many scientific terms should remain.

Kyrmyzy and Zhanetta believe that young people speak more Russian because of the influence of social networks and imitation of the West. Public reaction to people who can't speak Kazakh correctly decreases their desire to continue to improve and develop the language.

Students at the Intellectual School have been studying Kazakh literature since elementary school. Zhanetta noted that Berdybek Sokpakbaev's works influenced the discovery of a passion for reading. In particular, the works "Menin atym - Kozha", "Balalyk shakka sayahat" and "Olgender kaityp kelmeidi”.

When asked by the program hosts, "What profession did you choose?" Zhanetta replied:

- I haven't decided yet. However, I am interested in journalism. I can also be a copywriter. I am interested in collecting, processing and delivering information. We have an "AlashTime" page on our social network. We write about periods from the Alash Horde era to Independence, biographies, ministries and exploits of historical figures. We search, collect and process information on various resources on the Internet.

- I don't have a specific profession right now. However, I want to test myself in different spheres. I look for my strengths and weaknesses, develop and consider them, - answered Kyrmyzy to the same question.

In addition to education, the girls have favorite activities, and in their free time they are engaged in creativity. Zhannetta makes pictures and toys from felt and wool. In her works she depicts and conveys the Kazakh zhailau, nature and culture with the addition of ornaments.
